hello, please can konga help merchants to make pay before delivery compulsory for buyers. it will make buyers to be very serious with their order, i found out that some buyers just log into the site and order what they like and when you call them to confirm so as to ship the order they start telling you stories and this will bring dents to the shop having so many cancellations . some of them are students that are just playing with their laptop, some will tell you they traveled and their return is indefinite, some tell you actually its my friend that made me to order etc.
like now if a customer has paid for the order before delivery . the buyer too will be seriously waiting for the good to arrive. even if he/she traveled he will contact someone to recieve it on his behalf.
it will even make the merchants to be paid on time thereby not hanging their capital.
there will be less stress for even the dispatch men not to be having attempted delivery for so many times. things will be done at ease.
i am a merchant in another online market that pays before delivery and its very sweet for me trading with them. no stress of any kind

There are pros and cons on both sides of the argument. My thought is that providing some kind of incentive for the buyer to adopt prepaid will solve this while at the same time helping the sellers. Konga can consider providing option for sellers to make only prepaid items ship free or come at a discount to the buyer. Any stance that makes it difficult for the buyer is not encouraged. Remember if you are in the market place, you will need to do your best to woo the buyers to your shop.

Both buyers and seller should have equal protection. i think a % down payment will be fair to sellers to help reduce the number of un-serious buyers. Just as Konga is trying to protect buyers, they should put the same energy into protecting merchants too, alot of us are falling in the hands of these un-serious buyers.

@nkiru u are right for pay before delivery,I hv an experience last month that a buyer place an order, wen the item reached the destination which is delta i called d buyer only for him to tell me he has relocated that he dosent need it again.it took me up to a month before I got my item back after series of call.if only Konga can make d pay before delivery compulsory.I do buy things abroad and when I pay the money is with the owner of the site not the seller.its wen the buyer confirm d received of d item dat the seller is payed.

@nkiru,there is option for you to set by our shop on payment before delivery, but the disadvantage I for see in it is ,it may reduce your sales because,a lot of Nigerians don't want to use their cards ok online,am sure you know why, though the issue is a very sensitive one to look into .but what I think the can do is to ensure seller deposit like a small change into their wallet through bank payment, and they will let the buyer know, shipping fee will be deducted from this wallet either you receive the item or reject it.after all,if someone goes to market,he would have spent money on transport before he will know the market does not have what the wants at the moment.
