I received a mail today mandating that am to register on Kongapay, and that the wallet system will be stopped Effective 29th February 2016, kindly remember the recent CBN Policy of Duty stamp for all electronic and cash deposit into current accounts ( which some bank even charge on savings account ).
I understand that with kongapay Instant Payment of sales proceeds will hit the Merchants banks account, this means the merchants bank will charge the Merchant 50 naira for each sales proceeds, for orders whose value is above 1000 Naira.
So if i have 100 successful delivered orders in a month using Kongapay my bank will deduct 5000 naira from my account for Duty stamp.
In the main time i will appeal you don't scrape the wallet system yet, while a middle ground is found, i surly will not give CBN 50 naira for receiving proceeds of my delivered orders

Why is Konga always making things difficult for merchant?
I saw the email about this Konga pay things some days ago and i realise you have to put your ATM card details while you register.
I really did not even have an ATM card as i am out of the country, I only manage my accounts online and i transfer out of my account to my family if i need any money. I had to activate the account i use now online cos it was a dormant account and i had to activate it online and it is so difficult for me to get an ATM card from my bank cos i am not in Nigeria.
Also, is Konga really ready for all this? asking thousands of merchant to register their ATM details on their platform that even merchant cant even upload items without complains. I hope their platform will not be hacked.
which one is 50 naira stamp duty again?
Sometimes I wonder who are the people advising Konga over all the actions they are taking.

I share your view @Akorede O. I particularly like to save up that fund in the wallet until I'm sure of what I need it for.
Konga should stop forcing things on us really! Business relationship should be of mutual benefits not the other way round.

    Hello Adedotun,
We are aware of the mandated N50 stamp duty by CBN, Konga has put in place a system whereby a merchant is only charged the mandated stamp duty once a day, this is achieved by summing up all daily sales proceeds and remitting at the end of the day into merchants account.

A moderator promised to get back to us on this issue we raised on this thread.
I just received a text now that
'Dear Merchant, You have pending payment to receive from Konga. Kindly register for KongaPay on your SHQ to receive payment.'
Does it mean I can't recive the payment I requested for because of this issue?
Konga should let us know if they are giving us the options of wallet and payout considering the facts and points we have raised on the kongapay.
Your urgent response to this issue is needed.

You are all right. If Kongapay is enforced, that will mean us merchants having to add the N50 stamp duty to cost of product. Thereby making the products more expensive and likely unsold quickly. Lots of customers will gladly buy somewhere else cos of N50 difference as long as its same product and quality. Some of my customers who have had access to my Konga store has asked why the huge price difference? I find it hard to explain that merchants pay commission that high. Nigerians are yet to fully trust online shopping, Konga pls dont make it harder.
