So i read on another thread that the monthly membership fees will be enforced next month, well i honestly don't have a problem paying this membership fees if the following issues are addressed before we start paying any fees.
    1. Delayed deliveries with KExpress resulting in rejected/returned orders
    2. Real time tracking of shipment
    3. Rejecting orders by buyers on Point of delivery
    4. Unserious buyers
    5. Delay in returning rejected/returned orders to seller, there needs to be an expectation set here e.g. returned/rejected goods must be sent back to seller within 10days
    6. Inpatience KEXPRESS delivery men that are quick to update shipping status as "rejected by buyer" or "rescheduled by customer" when in all honestly the customer was NEVER contacted. We all know that there is network issues in Nigeria, if they cant get them once, they should keep trying or automate the system, once an item has reached its final destination, send an automated text message to the customer so they are aware of the delivery.
    7. Deliveries stuck in one location for no valid reason resulting in delayed order.

Konga - From the bottom of my heart, i am 100% sure that if most of these issues are addressed, my fellow sellers will be more receptive to the idea of this monthly fees. We understand that there are high operational costs to continue to thrive in such a competitive environment, but you need to reason with us as well. You can't enforce a N2,500 monthly fees with all these ongoing issues, in less than a week i have been subjected to a combination of all 7 issues listed above. Not how is that fair.
Rather than deleting this thread, listen to your sellers and provide constructive feedback on how these issues will be address

My fellow sellers, please feel free to add to the issue list.....

I will like to add that Konga put their house in order first. It looks like they just want to make more money at the expense of the merchants. I think Konga feels merchants are fools and nonentities and can be treated as such.
    1. Konga needs to educate customers on the process of making complaints about items they are unhappy about and how not to use reviews as a complaint tool.
    2. Konga should balance their loyalty on both sides; 50/50 on customers/merchants and not 70/30 as it is at present. Being 'consumer-centric' is okay but what happens to the merchants? Konga has taken consumer-centricity too far.
    3. Konga should be professional in their dealings with merchants, ensure merchants receive return goods before making refund to customers and updating their records to reflect such. Failure to do that, Konga should pay merchants immediately for such unreturned goods
    4. Konga to reduce the amount of damage caused to goods in their possession during shipping and handling and take responsibility in paying for damaged goods in their possession.
    5. Konga to critically look at the legal implications of their operational policy and do what is right at all times
    6. Konga to stop making it up as they go, there are too many trials and errors within the last three months. To do pilot studies before rolling out new systems which will fail.

Please add what you feel needs to be addressed.

commission + monthly fee is Ridiculous... please stop assuring me of better service its not by force. if u dont want people like us to sell on KONGA better say it. imagine if i put this to the press for them to ask the public if it is fair on merchants.average of N500 per commission multiplied by 2000 merchant a day = 1million multiplied by 365days???? KONGA dont let greed get in to the business.

I meant to say 2nd of April NOT 2nd of May that i started selling on konga.

I also know some that started selling 4 month ago with good products but have 4 successful sales and i am sure Konga wants them to pay 2500 every month.
I really couldn't see anybody been term as unserious seller cos you have to have internet connection before you can list a product and listing a products is not a childs play cos i spend fortune of time most time and i pay for data as well.
All this and more does not make it feasible for us to pay both commission and monthly fee.

@Dorcas A said everything on my mind. I for one, I think the issue of window shoppers/unserious buyers & KExpress failure/delayed deliveries should be tackled first. When that is tackled then we can start making profits and then start paying this space rent / shop rent to konga without complains. I mean i shipped an Order through KExpress to a customer here in Lagos, Victoria Island to be specific and since June 13th (it is June 21st) this customer hasnt received it ... I tracked this item it says "Jun 15, 2015 12:59 pm Order has arrived atVictoria Island SC, Victoria Island". I have called this customer and he said he has gone to purchase this cd at Palms which means i have to wait another 3-4 weeks for it to be returned back to me. I have cases like this with Orders outside Lagos. I mean when Orders are not been delivered how am i supposed to have extra money to pay as Shop rent / Space Rent on Konga? For me, I think this issues has to be tackled first then when we are making money then Konga can ask for money to. I mean, we can only give what we have.

I started selling on Konga 2nd of may to be precise, and that was when the issue of New shq started. Till date i have 9 successful sales. Lets assume the 2500 started then are you telling me i will still be in the market? No cos i still squeeze out some of my profit as commission.
Konga as a seller on this platform has upper hand than any seller on the platform cos for any product Konga sells, if you do a product search all konga products come up first. even if they have 1000 products.
How many buyer has the patience of checking all the products? hence they go for what they see on top.

Also, not everyone can afford to pay for adverts on konga which konga can do for their products everyday, which also make them have upperhand than any seller.
Konga should try and consider us especially the small scale business.

I buy my goods in USA which i pay for delivery to be shipped to my USA address and i also pay for it to be shipped to Nigeria(another cost). I also shipped to Kexpress which i pay the person i employed to do that for me. with all this cost, where do i squeeze 2500 from monthly?
Konga should note that with all this cost coming from seller, sellers will be pushed to buy inferior goods which they can buy any where and thereby making a mess of the platform.

Even if a buyer really needs a good and find out that the products is an inferior good, the buyer will return and if the buyer faces the same thing another time, he/she stop buying from Konga.
I did a rough calculation about the 2500 monthly if konga has 1000 seller which i know they have more than than.
for 1000 seller in a month, konga has 2.5 million naira, for one year 30 million naira and they still want to collect commission.
All want we are clamoring for is that Konga should either stick with commission or monthly fee to make Konga worth doing business with we cant afford paying for the two, except konga is only interested with company that already has their name(big company) alone.

It doesn't really sound fair at all to have merchants pay monthly fees and also charge commission on every sale. In addition, you also charge the same amount in commission for orders fulfilled by the seller with Konga providing zero after sales services. I will urge Konga to rethink these many fees. Having one in place of the other will be the best. It will also be good if you allow time for sellers to start seeing improvement in the market place before reviewing your fees. You do not force people to pay for value they have not received. We should all strive to maintain our common goal in this Konga family. It is not good for us to operate as parasite and host rather than a symbiotic relationship.

    Dear all,

Thank you for the feedback shared.

We understand all reservations on the soon to be introduced monthly fees. The monthly fees will be dedicated towards improving all our logistics services and towards a more rewarding marketplace for you.

Various programmes/actions- offline and online have been kick-started to reduce/prevent high returns and also encourage buyers to prepay for orders. We understand that this may take a while considering e-Commerce in Nigeria is still in the budding stage and the average online Nigerian buyer wants to see and feel the item to be purchased before making payment. We are however very certain it will prove very effective as we grow and offer more incentives for prepaid items. As our seller, we ask that you bear with us as we do so.

And as we look towards receiving your monthly fees from July 31st, we assure you of better services on the marketplace. We welcome further thoughts and suggestions through our suggestion channel- suggestions@konga.com

    Thank you.

my own take is, they should choose one, if we are made to 2500 monthly then the commission on sales should be scrap or if they want to retail the commission then, they should think very well, because i know with this N2500, many sellers is going to Port, and this will not be good for konga, There are some Good sellers that is making Konga name to reign till today, quote me! when some of them begin to port, Konga should not forget that any seller that has a buyer, that buyer has been tied to that seller if he does well, so by so doing, their transactions will continue, whether Konga.com shut the store or not...

Uffoh C, i support there is difference between aliexpress and Konga, everyone should be treated equal that is the reason why the advert is there, whosoever that want to gain popularity to be on top should pay for the advert, all items should be show at random, and sometimes when i search for item, the first set of items that is been display is Konga, konga, konga, me i think this ideal is not okay to me, all items should be at random, if konga decided to put top sellers on top and put others behind, how will those ones be able to make sales that would take them higher, The issue of N2500,
