  • buyers cancelling orders within minutes of placing orders

    who has noticed this or is it peculiar to my store? i receive notification for an order before the next 30mins order has been cancelled by buyer. the issue of unserious buyers has to be thoroughly addressed

    @David spoke my mind when he said that Konga should not use such orders to calculate seller rating. It is annoying.

    I got an order yesterday evening and I called the customer to confirmed, she asked me to go ahead and i checked to make sure its her exact size.
    This morning i saw a cancellation notice saying that the customer has cancelled the order.
    The next few minute, I saw an order for the same item and from same customer.
    I tried calling to know what the issue is, but she has not picked my call since.
    To me that is a RED FLAG for me and this is becoming so frustrating.
    Konga should try and make customers to be committed by paying a % of an item they are interested in and if the order gets to them and they feel its not what they wanted, they can still return it. This will only make people that are serious to buy to place orders.
    All the orders have been having since 3 weeks now are from unserious buyers.

    Hi @David O, What do you sell on Konga.com / What is your shop name? I think this is a strategy Konga.com has just put in place to calm sellers down THOUGH its fine but i think it would be better IF Konga.com will introduce pay 20-50% of the item or if possible prepay knowing that the money will be in ESCROW until customer confirms the delivery. I mean what @David O said is so similar to this other post i saw yesterday i will be investigating as i know there will still be more of this to come.

    @Chidozie @Busayo Thanks for your comments, the option of online makes customers have so many to choose from and after clicking, they might see a preferable product.
    As a Seller, i have gotten cancelled orders by the buyer within minutes, i couldn't understand why, but when i bought a few items on Konga & put them into the cart and before checkout i decided to look again and discovered some better products albeit more expensive but i preferred the latter option.
    So most people see better options after checkout, but for buyers always put items in cart first and browse through before making your final checkout, also Konga should not consider cancelled orders in the rating of the seller.

    Hello Chidozie, I am one of those customers, guilty as charged.
    Actually, it's my first time doing so (and my first time on this forum and the headline quickly caught my attention because I could identify with it, as it's very recent). Yesterday, I wanted to buy caged sandals, I browsed through and saw one which was my size (which costs 6000) and immediately placed an order. After FILTERING through once again, I saw another one, also a perfect size ( costs 14,400) and I immediately preferred it to the former. I cancelled the former immediately and placed an order for the latter. 
    Apologies for raising a sellers hopes for a transaction sometimes, but from my experience, it is really not because we are unserious but because there are so many options to choose from that we sometimes find it hard to scroll all the way to a desired item that might be placed really down the screen. In my case, I saw my preferred option through a filter. Sorry.
