We all know of the coming changes expected on the shq in the next few weeks, from the first day I got the email that merchants will be allowed to deliver themselves I told myself this just a really bad idea.
With more mail coming in and the whole picture getting clearer I see the changes as a half baked experiment.
Now K express shipping rate which most merchant think will be affordable and attractive is out, I don't see the rate as affordable and attractive.
Will there be improvement in the delivery time?
Some logistics company have different rates for successful delivery and unsuccessful delivery, why can't k express have something similar.
How will the commission be calculated, since merchant can self deliver.
Will there be opportunity for merchants to make the customer pay for shipping cost alone while placing their order.
What level of enlightenment have been done to educate customers of the upcoming changes.
I sincerely hope some of the annoying inconsistencies experienced on the current HQ will be history in the new HQ.

    @Ebere O, that's great.

Anyway, today is April 1st and am yet to see the update (Courier Options, COD, PBD) on my HQ Dashboard.
    Thanks.

This means seller will put himself at a disadvantage if he factored cost of shipping into product and lists as free shipping. Buyer will not be entitled to pay for the cost of shipping not listed by the seller.

Hello All, Glad to see everyone is interacting nicely.
In response to the Prepaid scenario in Temitope's question, if the item is rejected, customer will be refunded N1000 and the delivery cost will be forfeited.
The merchant will get the N500 delivery cost returned.

However, if Item is rejected due to delayed shipment, customer gets a full refund and the N500 delivery cost paid by merchant is forfeited. Hope this helps

    Hello Kunle O,
If you would be kind enough to respond to the questions on shipping/return fees/cost as raised by Temitope A.
A number of sellers on this thread would like that clarified.

    Thank you.

@ Eucharia O, I think you didn't quite get the scenario Temitope A described, The product price is N1000 and the shipping cost is N500, it is not a case where the shipping cost is built into the product price. Based on this, when and order is rejected will the shipping cost be refunded? I guess no, because technically the service "Shipping" has been rendered, moderators please correct me if I'm wrong.

Going further, will it be possible to make the customer pay for just the shipping cost, the product can be paid for upon delivery?

Also we'll be expected to pay for packaging materials, do we have to use Konga's packaging materials if our items are already packaged?

Of Course she will get her money back, It wasn't a successful order, (not her fault)
Plus the money is in the escrow already.
I am very sure Konga has put all these scenarios into consideration, Lets see what happens when this new platform is launched.

    @ Eucharia O
    Kindly read Temitope's question again.

In this scenario, the customer REJECTED the item.
That means the item is coming back to the seller as a RETURN while the buyer gets her money back.

What Temitope would like to know is what happens to the N500 she had to pay at K-Express to ship the item to the buyer.
    Does she get it back?

@ Temitope, Remember you factored in the 500naira delivery cost to the original price making the earphones 1k5. so if the customer rejects you will be refunded 1k5 (the price you set initially).
My understanding of the New self fulfill.
    1. Prepaid is always good,
    2. When you opt for free delivery on your items , Always factor in the delivery cost in pricing.
