  • KOS Email thread on their account details update - a breach

I got a mail yesterday from KOS, and inasmuch I don't think the image contained in the mail disseminated the information well, I am particularly worried about the method used to distribute the email to the intended recipients.

So, KOS wishes to tell me about the change in their bank account details and the best thing they could do is send me a mail containing 497 email addresses of other corporate clients (I suppose) all entered into the 'to' address field. So much for being a 'corporate' client isn't it?

In case KOS is not aware, this is an avoidable and unnecessary breach.

There are good emailing apps all over the place that anyone can access FREE OF CHARGE without any unnecessary exposure of clients information.

It is interesting that the mail has generated a thread of replies with several recipients choosing to use "reply all" instead of "reply" to talk back to KOS. What this means is that I get to see the conversations between these clients and KOS which I ordinarily don't have to see. I pray this stops already.

By the way, I have 18 conversations that are not my business at all dropping into my mail box from people I have no knowledge about at different times. This is a huge distraction from my daily activities as the mails clog up my mail box and deny me the opportunity to see and respond to more important mails.

KOS has to fix this and fix it immediately.

    Thanks but no thanks.
