  • How do I set all my live orders to Prepaid only

Please how do I set all my orders to pre-paid only. I have been on the 'delivery settings' page and the only available options are to determine delivery location and set shipping charges.
Going with the current hiccups of the new shq and also to reduce my returns rate, I only want to accept prepaid orders within Lagos.

Also to Konga, the new self-fulfill will discourage white collar job merchants in Lagos or outside Lagos selling on Konga as an additional source of income because of the inconveniences and all. The K-express former drop-off method without hassles except for returns have been encouraging however this self-fulfill might drive some of your merchants to your major competitor. I'll suggest a kind consideration and exploration of a flexible order fulfillment process to retain merchants.

@Adetola O - I agree with you, there's that risk of an 'all sellers for themselves kind of thing' and an element of that will exist no matter what; especially as most of us are still trying to figure things out as we go along.

But I choose to believe that with time, tools like Seller Academy will be used increasingly to provide resources to help all merchants continually achieve more sales. (FOC I pray)
I also remember Konga sending an email one time about a buddy system or maybe they called it mentoring; they may have something in the pipeline with that.
Plus I'm hoping that with the shift of responsibility to the merchants 100%, Konga will channel additional resources into looking after merchants better e.g. named account managers that we've been asking for or specific teams designated to looking after each product category.
(I know, I live in such an ideal world inside my head; I sometimes shake my head at my optimism but it keeps me sane. Konga may be listening to us and maybe, just maybe...)

We also seem to be talking more amongst ourselves on this Forum and I hope that'll increase; it is possible to share useful tips and ideas to help one another while still holding on to 'trade secrets'.

    Good luck to us all!

Hello Adetola, Your delivery charges are set on a store level not on an item level. Kindly log into your shq, under ' my delivery rates' Click the box beside Lagos Metro to reset your delivery charges to Pre-Paid only.

Please be assured that Konga has our Sellers interest at heart and will definitely look into all the complaints and issues raised to ensure streamlined process in the coming weeks.

@ Moderator. This your automated response is not solving the Pre-paid issue.
Kindly advise on a more proactive and detail solution for this so called technical issue.
    Thank you.

    Hello Ebere,
I have logged into my shq, clicked on delivery rates but could not see anywhere to set my orders within any town to prepaid. why is this? I only see boxes to include locations that i want to sell to and either to set free shipping or not.
Your urgent response will be appreciated.

    Thank you.

I agree with Adetola especially on the issue of white-collar job merchants. The old arrangement before self-fulfill was much more convenient. It would be nice if it is made an option for those who want to remain in the old arrangement with delivery costs. Konga, please give it a thought.

@ Dumebi O...Appreciate your objectivity especially on point 2, not a bad idea really. My point 3 was stemmed out of point one actually, seems like an all sellers for themselves kind of thing but am sure some learning will be picked and on 4, time will surely tell.

    Cheers.

@Adetola O. I agree with you on point 1. Sam B (and other posts) have raised this - http://community.konga.com/thread/new-shq-ought-to-allow-option-for-buyers-pay-for-delivery-before-item-gets-to-them

Re-point 2 - Konga has created enough of a name for themselves and will continue to do so whether the packaging has their name or not. I'm personally taking this as an opportunity to promote our store and its name. Looking into low-cost but effective packaging material that has our store name on it, similar to what Konga does at the moment. You never know, once your name gets out there and gathers enough traction, you may be able to launch your own website and turn your store into something more than a side hustle - whoops, did I say that out loud :-)? In this regard, Konga is doing us a favour!

Re-point 3 - passing the responsibility 100% to the merchant has the potential of benefiting us in the long run. Each store rises and falls on its own merits not because Konga or K-Express have messed things up. To be fair, Konga's commission is reasonable even if it's purely for hosting the platform and all that entails. Plus as they advertise the Konga name through other medium, they're inadvertently advertising the stores that sell on the platform 'cos as customers come to check it out and search for various products ones store might come up and customers may and will take a plunge as more trust is earned.
With this method, poor packaging, like you mentioned, affects only the merchants store. With time buyers come to learn the system and they'll soon figure out which stores to trust and which to avoid thanks to the rating system.

Re-point 4...only time will tell. For all we know competitors may be watching and learning from this move Konga has made and may follow suit with something similar. Besides, I'll bet a lot of merchants have stores on those competitor platforms; it's not personal it's business. At the end of the day the aim is sell quickly :-).

@ Dumebi O, thanks. It's exactly the same for me.

@ Ebere O, nothing comes up once the box is clicked.

I have read your recent post on self-fulfill and I must say the modus operandi will discourage a lot of merchants especially those with 8-5 jobs.

1 - The fact the shipping charges will not be refunded is a total blunder. My suggestion will be to create a pre-paid shipping option for all orders so that all buyers(unserious ones inclusive) will pay for shipping so that even if the order is eventually returned, it will be at the expense of the buyer and not Konga or the merchant because if the item was to be bought in an open market, the buyer will transport himself/herself to the market and should there be a case of return or refund, the buyer will in turn re-visit the market at his/her own cost.

2 - The caveat of packing materials to be provided to merchants based on availability is a no-no because this should be provided especially since merchants are selling in Konga's name. Also, this creates awareness for the brand name Konga and further spreads the gospel of Konga. Again, poorly packaged or damaged orders due to poor packaging will be attributed to Konga not the merchant and this will impact Konga's reputation and image.

3 - This new self-fulfill so far only resonates Konga's deliberate act to pass a 100% of liability and responsibility to the merchant however enjoy a 100% of the benefit in terms of commission.

4 - I very much understand the need for process improvement however this should be aligned with Konga's objective which is profitability. Directly or indirectly, Konga's profit will be impacted from minor or major exodus of merchants to your competitor.

    Regards.
