  • Here’s the Reason We Might Have Revoked Your Access to Self-Fulfil

    We thank you for your continued partnership and want to reassure you that our goal is to build a marketplace that will be beneficial to both our customers and our merchants.
    
    Over the past few months, we have discovered that a good number of merchants have attempted to criminalize the self-fulfil activity to suit their needs. This informed the decision to revoke the self-fulfil option. Some other reasons for this decision are:
    
    1. Self-fulfil access has granted fraudulent merchants the opportunity to owe invoices running to millions and refusing to pay, then  closing their store only to reopen under another alias
    2. Some merchants now ship and deliver orders but do not update the status of these orders accurately so as to avoid paying commissions on them
    3. There has  been a high rate of “auto cancelled ” orders due to delay in order shipment from merchants as a result of other fraudulent reasons
    4. Some merchants update orders to “ship by self” but eventually cancel these orders by themselves or requesting customers to cancel in order to avoid cancellation sanction
    
    As we progress in our partnership the coming months, we implore that you continue to focus on building a sustainable business with us to ensure a successful and fruitful relationship.
    
    NB: If your access has been revoked, all orders received by your store MUST  be shipped by KOS as you will no longer be able to ship by Self.

    @teju F, thank you so much for this consideration, because am about closing my online store with konga. most of my items online are shipped direct from Chicago to my costumers, But after read the message, will give it another shot with Konga.

    We thank you for your feedback and appreciate your taking time out to express your opinions.
    
    While we  understand your stance and complaints, please be assured that our shipment efficiency remains aggressive and we seek to improve our services daily, to which we have received several testimonials as well as additional suggestions we can implement from various merchants. 
    
    This is however  not to undermine the need to further step up our shipment "game" to accommodate the recent pool increase due to the revoked access. We implore that you bear with us as we work urgently towards achieving this.
    
    The reason we revoked these accesses is not to frustrate our merchants or make the business less satisfying for all but rather to reduce the rate of auto cancellation of orders, the high rate of orders in shipped statuses that were not updated for fraudulent reasons and merchants that have low delivery rate for self fulfill orders.
    
    Please be aware that certain metrics and criteria were used to revoke the self fulfill access of merchants. We are however very much aware that some of you may have valid reasons for falling in this category and as a result, we are open to granting exemptions based on requests and careful evaluation of past shipment and delivery performance of each merchant that would like to have their self-fulfill access reinstated.
    
    We once again apologize to affected merchants who may have in one way or the other surpassed our performance criteria but still had the access revoked. If you belong in this category, kindly send a mail to [email protected] requesting that your self fulfill access be reinstated and we will be glad to grant exemption. Please note however that this will only be granted after careful evaluation of your past self fulfill shipment and delivery rate.

    i have been selling on KONGA almost 2years now and only self fulfilled 3 orders which was due to customer's request for fast delivery. All orders have been shipped by KOS. The problem I hVe with my drop off centre KOS ILORIN is that they don't update orders as received immediately cos they sometimes don't have light nor fuel to run the generator. Sometimes the orders aren't updated till the next day or two. 
    With self-fulfill all I did was to mark as shipped on SHQ pending when it's updated by KOS.  With self fullfill revoked I have had some auto cancelled orders, not because I didn't drop off but because KOS didn't update.
    As a seller in my location, KOS is my only shipping option since the supposed KONGA delivery partners insisted on taking delivery charge before shipping and unrefundable if delivery fails. KONGA should know which merchants to grant self fulfill and those to revoke.
    I'm just waiting for my store to be suspended when it's clearly not my fault.  I have sent several emails but no, KONGA is king and their decision stands. 
    KOS will be the death of konga. They don't attempt delivery and are quick to mark as failed delivery.

    To cut the head from the neck is never a cure to headache. Konga, you guys are so reactive and very shy in being proactive. No doubt, different hurdles show up in the line of business which one must make difficult decisions but in Konga's case you take decisions that are so self centered forgetting the nature of your business is also partnership with other business owners.
    
    It's a bad business decision to give blanket punishment to all merchants on your platform because of some few bad eggs amongst them. Without considering the effect on their businesses.
    
    The KOS  which is the only option you are providing to your merchants is a limping service provider!  It's either KOS is overwhelmed, inefficient or just complacent from lack of competition. 
    
    Konga should continue making it difficult for merchant to sell on their platform with erroneous decision making. It's only a matter of time. 
    
    Have you sniffed the air lately that eBay Nigeria is in pipeline? Hmm, your merchants are poachable if you get too comfortable while your merchants are dissatisfied.

    Dear Konga,
    well you should have thought otherwise for honest seller, some honest seller should've given a chance to continue with there self-fulfill, at least you knew the seller that are fraudulent and honest ones.
    For example: my company is e-commerce with dhl and a lot of people will prefer me ship to them through dhl to enjoy that 48hours delivery for same price that konga charges and don't forget that konga delivery that took 10days or 2 weeks to get other deliver, i do ship direct from my store in chicago to most of my customer on konga and it will be deliver to them under one week! you can cheek some of my fulfilled on my store and verified from the customers................
    What am try to say is that some honest seller should be given a chance, you cant because some seller are fraudulent, WHY MUST OTHER PEOPLE pay for there (sins)of those people?
    have you forgot that all customer can have access to the seller contact  easily ask for fast shipment!
    technology  is more smarter than what you think.
    think twice sometimes before you act.
    NOTE: most your delivery workers are fraud too! (do you know why?) MOST OF THEM WILL NOT CALL CUSTOMER OR MAKING ANY EFFORT TO DELIVER ORDERS AND THEY WILL EASILY MARKED RETURN ORDER OR THE CUSTOMER CANT BE REACHED!

    KOS does not ship glass items, how are the merchants into cosmetics and art going to ship their fragile glass items now?
