  • Here’s the Reason We Might Have Revoked Your Access to Self-Fulfil

    Dear Partner,
    
    We thank you for your continued partnership and want to reassure you that our goal is to build a marketplace that will be beneficial to both our customers and our merchants.
    
    Over the past few months, we have discovered that a good number of merchants have attempted to criminalize the self-fulfil activity to suit their needs. This informed the decision to revoke the self-fulfil option. Some other reasons for this decision are:
    
    1. Self-fulfil access has granted fraudulent merchants the opportunity to owe invoices running to millions and refusing to pay, then  closing their store only to reopen under another alias
    2. Some merchants now ship and deliver orders but do not update the status of these orders accurately so as to avoid paying commissions on them
    3. There has  been a high rate of “auto cancelled ” orders due to delay in order shipment from merchants as a result of other fraudulent reasons
    4. Some merchants update orders to “ship by self” but eventually cancel these orders by themselves or requesting customers to cancel in order to avoid cancellation sanction
    
    As we progress in our partnership the coming months, we implore that you continue to focus on building a sustainable business with us to ensure a successful and fruitful relationship.
    
    NB: If your access has been revoked, all orders received by your store MUST  be shipped by KOS as you will no longer be able to ship by Self.

    I made a request for reinstating my self fulfil access since January 31st. I got a response same day that my request will be given attention. Since then, no feedback. I sent a mail on February 14 for an update,  yet no response. Although my store has been vacation for a while. Now that I want to resume fully, I found out the status was still the same. Please I need feedback regarding this as it will go long way to help me make crucial decisions concerning by store.

    It might be a good idea to communicate to each seller the specific reason(s) why access to self fulfil was revoked.
    There seem to be a laundry list of reasons... and would you also tell us how to regain access.

    While self-fulfill is truly beneficial to both parties, we also need to ensure we are not losing revenue at the same pace we are making them to balance things out. Out of stock items are not permitted on Konga and should this occur, it should be at the minimal communicated to you when you initially opened your store. We are aware you may have physical stores that you also sell these products hence the need for you to constantly update your product quantity and prices especially for your best sellers. That's one of the key qualities an online seller must master. 
    
    Sometimes, a cancelled order could have been placed by a very influential buyer who won't hesitate to spread the "bad" news to other buyers which will not only affect the merchant's store but Konga as a whole. One cancelled order is a loss of advert revenue of that product as well as loss of that particular buyer who may never come back due to the disappointing experience and will ensure none of his family member purchases on Konga anymore. Hence, the effect of a cancelled order goes deeper and has a deeper negative impact than the loss of the amount of that product. 
    
    We are however willing to grant you or other interested sellers their self-fulfill access once again. This will however be subject to your previous self fulfill performance. There is need to ensure that orders you have chosen to ship by self gets to customer on time and updated appropriately on SHQ. If your store was wrongly affected and you require your self fulfill access to ship orders, please send a mail to [email protected] and we will be happy to reinstate your access once we are sure your previous performances have been impressive,

    Thanks konga for reinstating my self-fulfill access, it show you don't  only listen with your ears but also to facts . how sweet it is with self fulfilling,got an order today, and delivered today.This is what you can't get with KOS. .

    I want to commend Konga on their great work so far...at the same time, you can't eat your cake and have it. Self service benefit you guys a lot (konga). If you go through my store previously you will notice, have self fulfill some order. Where by, one way or the other is out of stock, eventually, will confuse customer to take another item and it will deliver, will consequently mark it deliver too. So you can have your commission.  
    
    For Merchants that have more than 500 item listed, you can't be perfect not to have out of store in an order.  
    
    I will advice, to allow self fulfill on seller location. It's pay on delivery not paid order . Some customer not even sure of what they are buying. We merchant are the one, doing more of the explanation. 
    
    Bottom line is. Self fulfill benefit more to konga. There are more Merchant that has customer relation on changing mind for order placed but out of stock. Thank you!
