  • Escrow Should Be Scrabbled With New Payment Methods

    As always is no longer news that konga always favors themselves with their policies without considering the effect it will have on their merchants in particular and the marketplace at large. Without being over pessimistic what the future holds with konga's self-centered policies,they forget to understand that if these policies is not mutual, it is the market place that will suffer and  the merchants. 
    However, creating a new payment system seems to be a welcome idea for me personally in a bit to get my money in bulk, but with the existence of escrow , this simply means that merchants will have to wait for  7days to get their money which is unhealthy for a successful products credibility and prompt delivery.You can't hold vendor's money forever with returns lingering for more than a month and you expect them to deliver quality products to their customers. Holding vendor's money longer will not only facilitate counterfeit products on the platform, but also increases the numbers of dissatisfied customers.
    
    in the same vein, as a merchant , when a merchant is deprived of his money longer with incoming orders at his neck, he will probably try to fulfill these orders to avoid penalty and this will definitely lead to sending replica or fake products.
    
    If you really have interest of your merchants at hand, then escrow needs to be scrambled, abrupt delivery updates and off course prompt payment.
    Without mincing words, the konga's payment system if far from being fair and i will be generous to rate them 3stars.
    Lastly , you initiated a payment plan that put my money on hold on my wallets for days and yet on the 27th which was Monday, you still refuse to pay me.after waiting for 6days without remorse, no messages why payment was not initiated as promised.Hmmm.Please be aware eCommerce in 9ja is not monopoly, other companies are springing up, and sooner than later if you don't change your policies to balance the equation, all sellers will vacate this platform.

    Please note that  all products delivered to customers cover the 7-days return policy.
    
    Also, the payout issue earlier experienced over the weekend (25th -27th Feb 2017) has been resolved. You may now proceed to request for your funds.

    Currently i don't have a return policy. But it baffles me why a merchant with no return policy, you still hold their funds for 72hours(3days) before they are eligible for payments. what am saying is with this new payment system, a merchant will wait for almost 7days to get their funds even without a return policy. lets do the arithmetic. an order that is delivered today, Tuesday, will stay for 3days before moving to wallet, which simply means the vendor will not receive payment for the order till on Monday the following week, and if network glitch occurs as it always with konga, it means, the payment will be prolong to Tuesday. Currently i was not paid yesterday despite being overdue for payment. very disappointed

    Your return policy will affect the number of days your money stays in escrow. If your funds are kept in escrow for 7days, this is as a result of return policy already set by you.
    
    With 0 return policy which can only be applicable for specific products, you will get your funds within 72hours.
    
    If what you currently experience is contrary to either of these options, please send a mail to mall@konga.com for investigation.
