  • Buying Advert Spaces - Dramatic increase in sales?

I would Like to thank Konga, first of all, for the opportunity given to every seller on this platform. It has been quite worth the while. Nonetheless, it is important that i stress the already initiated point, that sales have drastically dropped for some of us, especially merchants who sell high-valued Items. A month ago, my store recorded nothing less than 10 orders per week. But its been a week now since the Self fulfil launch and i'v barely received 1 order.
I know things would soon fall back into place, but before then, has any one in this forum bought an Ad space on the front page? I intend to do so soon, so i just need a little guidance and convincing testimonies from any merchant who has tried it. Was it effective? Did sales increase? What's the procedure? Etc..practically, any feedback would be greatly appreciated. Thank you.

    Hello All

I ran an Ad for about four days, and I was thoroughly dissapointed.

Sales did not increase at all, I regreted it.
I sell womens fashion clothing and I'm not going to be trying it anytime soon.

But again it depends on what you sell and who your target market is. I think for the most part products below N5000 are the fastest selling on Konga, the average price of my product is about N8000, So maybe that's a factor, I don't know. would love to hear from other peoples experiences.

We did an advert on the main page,it cost us about 30k for 3 days or so and we planned the advert to push our core business which are female bags. the whole experience did not turn out right at all
    1. the person handling our ads left and it was turned to another person who missed our core essence,we supplied her with pictures of items but she used images of other products not our bags
    2. she compensated us with a lot of incentives i must add here, they gave us lots of days beyond what we paid for, gave us free spot on the men fashion section also for days
    3. as much as we got all these freebies it only increased sales in other item categories that we did not really expect but fell short of the budget we expended,so we only got orders below what we paid for
So before you do adverts make sure you know your target audience,it will drive growth but will it cover your expenses and make you profit? we have decided to shelve ads for now, even as orders have reduced we will would rather watch and see things evolve naturally as high end and priced products are not an all comers affair. A lot of buyers on Konga are looking for deals,so if your goods are high-end do the math properly

hello OD, thank you very much for your feedback. That was quite unfortunate o, has anything been done to compensate you or make up for the error?

I placed the bronze advert for a day to test run. The ad was eventually run for two days but unfortunately it was placed to the right side of the front page which on most devices got truncated off hence not visible to anyone who logs onto the site. The only way most could see it was if they were to reduce their screen size to say 75% and then the right side adverts that get truncated will become visible. But one would only do that, if they knew their was an issue I.e know part of the screen has been truncated, but how would you know that?
Did inform Konga but still await a response. So for me, the ad did not produce any results and I didn't sell anymore than a regular week. I guess if they refit the content of their homepage, this won't happen and maybe you will go on to get loads of sales.

Thank you so much @Kelechi and @Toyin. Really helpful feedback, i think its worth a shot, provided there are flexible campaign options.

    Hello Koopa,

I will give you a brief of my advert test run last month and hope this motives you but first let me answer your questions.
    1. Was it effective? I did a 3days advert campaign and the turnover was drastic. Orders were still coming in 1week after the campaign.
    2. Did sales increase? my sales increased from 3 orders per week to 16 per week.
    3. What's the procedure? I sent a mail to adsales@konga.com and a representative help me out from there.

For my campaign, i had to check all factors affecting my sales e.g. the image of the products, compare prices with other merchants and also did a couple of bundles (customers like incentives). etc.

    I hope this was helpful.

it helps but nothing dramatic, the highest number of orders i have received during an advert week is 18.
